FAQ

Branch in a Glass Jar
  • Do you accept insurance?
Jackie Ourman, LMHC is an out-of-network provider. If you have out-of-network coverage, you will be able to submit bills from our sessions to your insurance company and they should pay for a portion of the cost. If you don’t know what your out-of-network benefits are for outpatient mental health services, we recommend that you reach out to your insurance company to ask about reimbursement for your visits.
  • What are your fees and what type of payment do you accept?
$250 for 45 minute session $300 for 60 minute session The standard session is 45 minutes. There are occasions where we may feel we need more time and we will discuss that before extending our session to 60 minutes and increasing the fee. We accept credit cards as our primary form of payment and will keep one on file in our secure client portal to pay for your sessions.
  • Do you have a sliding scale?
We do not offer a sliding scale at this time.
  • Are sessions in person or online?
We are currently offering virtual appointments and do not have plans to be in person in the near future.
  • Do you have a no-show or cancellation policy?
Yes. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. We are strict about this policy as it helps us manage our schedule and availability for all clients. As such, you will be charged the full rate for your session if you do not show or cancel with less than 24 hours notice. We hope you understand.
  • What is it like to begin therapy?
We usually will meet for two to three sessions to discuss your current concerns, history and goals for therapy. That time will also allow us to determine whether or not we feel like we will be a good match. If so, we will establish a plan together to help you meet your goals. Otherwise, we will be happy to recommend another therapist for you to work with.
  • How long should I expect to be in therapy and how often will we meet?
Two great questions! This is generally determined on a case by case basis but we believe that the best way to build a therapeutic alliance and help you meet your goals is to start with weekly sessions, at least for the first three to six months. However, there are times where that is not possible. We will discuss recommended frequency during the first few sessions. Typically, after the initial three to six month period, some clients will transition to bi-weekly sessions and then eventually, will likely develop the tools needed to move on from therapy. We will be here if you need to check back in at anytime or if you prefer or need ongoing support.
